The Church Point Board of Directors consists of five positions in accordance with the Association’s Bylaws. Below is list of the current board members and their backgrounds. President – Don Degner
My family has been a part of the Church Point Community for 12 years. Concern has risen regarding existing and past board direction. As a strong leader, I intend to assist in managing the HOA based on our HOA documents and have the board operate with total transparency and accountability. Board Experience: is or has been the Bishops Court Board, Virginia Choral Board, Tidewater Aquatics Club Board, Virginia Ballet Advisory Board, Friends of the Virginia Opera founding Board.
Vice-President – Gary Lauck
Shortly after moving to Church Point in 2009, my wife Carrie started the Church Point Social Committee and I eventually took over the Newsletter. I am a retired US Navy helicopter pilot with 30 years of service and 12 years prior experience as HOA Board President for Town Center Condominiums. We have two children in High School.
Secretary – Ron Couture
Ron Couture served on Church Point Board of Directors from May 2019 to November, 2023.
Ron is a former United States Naval Officer and has lived in Church Point with his wife Anna who is employed at Old Dominion University, and two children, Radomyr, currently attending college and Liliana, attending high school. The Couture family has lived in Church Point since 2015 and in Chix Beach since 2000. Ron is currently working in the Process Improvement field aa a civilian for the U.S. Coast Guard. Ron wants to serve on the board to once again give back to this great community.
Treasurer – Priyal Patel
Prival Patel has lived in Church Point for 1.5 years. Prival has worked professionally as an IT Analyst. He also has his degree in computer science and MBA. He has over 15 years of experience in Information Technology Consulting and Business. Priyal wants to serve on the Board because he is passionate about our community and wishes to contribute to Church Point growth and well-being. With his skills in community planning and organizational management, he believes that he can help address residents’ concerns effectively. Serving on the board would allow him to foster open communication and enhance the quality of life for everyone in Church Point.
Assistant Treasurer – Susan Hauser
Susan’s family has been a part of the Church Point Community for 29 years. Susan recently retired from a 32-year civilian career with the US Navy. Susan hopes to offer her time and support to assist in managing the HOA based on our HOA documents with total transparency and accountability. The goal is to keep Church Point a desirable place to live. Previous Board Experience includes Bellwood Estates Civic League Board of Directors, Virginia Beach Youth Soccer League Board, Young Life TIS Board, and Jeremiah Project Board of Directors (serving as President).
