President – Mr. Gary Lauck

Shortly after moving to Church Point in 2009, my wife Carrie started the Church Point Social Committee and I eventually took over the Newsletter. I am a retired US Navy helicopter pilot with 30 years of service and 12 years prior experience as HOA Board President for Town Center Condominiums. We have two children in High School.

Vice-President – Dr. Michael Gen

My name is Michael and I am a cardiologist in the community. I have lived in Church Point with my wife and kids since 2020. We fell in love with this neighborhood and care deeply about a safe and beautiful community with a board that has the residents’ interests at heart. I was a board member at a top public charter high school, helped manage a busy practice and held numerous leadership positions at hospitals here and in our previous home in central California. My goal is to be your advocate and representative on the board. I will ensure your awareness of issues in the neighborhood, encourage your voice and yet let you focus on living your busy lives without the hassle of worrying about
the HOA.

Secretary – Dr. Amit Badiye

Day one when we entered the Church Point neighborhood after our move from Miami, my family knew this is the place to be and raise kids. We have seen this community change and grow through COVID. My family and I always want it be in a safe and enjoyable neighborhood and one good testament to that is the crosswalks at the Church Point entrance. Yes, my 10& 15 yr old wrote to the city commissioner with our guidance and made it happen! I am a transplant cardiologist and help patients with broken hearts and help them live longer. The HOA becomes the heart of the community and I want to run for the board of directors to make sure the heart is in the right place! I will advocate for a safer, better neighborhood with clear communication and will support HOA rules which will add value to the homeowners money and to the community both short and long term.

Treasurer – Mr. Don Degner

My family has been a part of the Church Point Community for 12 years. Concern has risen regarding existing and past board direction. As a strong leader, I intend to assist in managing the HOA based on our HOA documents and have the board operate with total transparency and accountability. Board Experience: is or has been the Bishops Court Board, Virginia Choral Board, Tidewater Aquatics Club Board, Virginia Ballet Advisory Board, Friends of the Virginia Opera founding Board.

Assistant Treasurer – Mr Jack Timms

I have lived in Virginia Beach for 59 years and the last 24 in Church Point. Being somewhat retired, I am anxious to give back to the community. I would like to be on the Board of Directors to ensure we maintain our fine neighborhood in the manor we are all accustomed to. Both of my children have been raised in Church Point, one grown and one at home. I have always taken pride in this neighborhood and close relationships we share. I believe the HOA board should represent and serve the interests of the community and would like to fill that role.
