RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, Article I of the Church Point Articles of Incorporation states: “1. To engage without profit to its members in such activities as may promote the health, safety, welfare and common benefit of the residents of Church Point.” and;

WHEREAS, Article III, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, Section 4: Powers and Duties of the Board, Item h. of the Church Point HOA Bylaws states: “To appoint committees from time to time from the membership relating to community affairs.” and;

WHEREAS, there is a need to assist the Board of Directors in creating and sustaining a strong, family-oriented, social fabric within the association.

Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Directors establish the Social Committee as its arm to assist in planning, budgeting, executing and reviewing social events.

  1. The Committee shall consist of any homeowner willing to participate.
  2. The Committee Chair and the Members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Board of Directors to serve at the pleasure of the Board.
  3. The Committee shall develop a social activities program for the year in advance and submit recommendations along with a recommended budget to the Board of Directors by August 1st of each calendar year.
  4. The Committee shall ensure activities foster a sense of community spirit and contribute to a stronger family-oriented, social fabric.
  5. The Committee shall ensure funds are only used for events which are all-inclusive of the members (They may not be used for small group activities).
  6. The Committee shall execute the planned events, coordinate the logistics and work with the Communications Committee for notifications and signage.
  7. The Committee shall welcome new homeowners to the community.
  8. The Committee shall plan and execute the annual yard sale.
  9. The Committee shall contribute an article to the Communications Committee for inclusion in the quarterly newsletter.
